Last Week...

On Wednesday, our intrepid Keepers, Slayers, and allies made their way to Apollo's lair! They found a full-fledged war between Undine's and Apollo's elementals, which certainly didn't make it easy to get through.

Some of them fought Rathgriz. They found out he -- and two other spirits -- were revived with parts of Lera. They got his, though he gave his life up to give it to them. The rest rushed into the Seal Room, and fought against Undine -- and those she brought with! Ezra and Victor managed to subdue Undine; Madi's robot was ultimately stopped too. Nayan had a change of heart.

Lera tackled Vanya into a hallway in the beginning of the fight. She struck a mortal blow! However, Ashtaroth and the Ancient Master showed up just in time to save his life.

Which is good, because after Undine was weakened, Vorinus showed up! He managed to bind Undine to his will. Asmo, who had always been the Masked Man, managed to get back to the scroll... and gave up his life to transform all Patisse and Castillo members into Almagoras members (at least, magically)! Vorinus went berserk, but the ancient master managed to slow him, and our heroes fled.

After that, there was some time to rest. Things in the world have gotten awkward; Vorinus vowed to destroy Schellenberg, but he has holed up in Paracelsus and not yet taken such actions. However, House Schellenberg is preparing for war -- and the word is that House Weatherford will stand with their old allies. Castillo and Patisse are left discombobulated, though. House Patisse has said they will continue on. House Castillo's leadership has gone into seclusion -- and will say nothing about what they intend.

Apollo is nowhere to be seen.

...This Week!

First: our big event is on Saturday and this will be a major change for the game. We encourage social RP before them, because characters will be in a very different location next week and that will affect the backdrop and content of scenes a lot.

Life at Paracelsus is a little bit tense, to say the least. The SICU safehouse has a generator -- courtesy of Guillaume -- so there's electricity and even internet now. Most characters will probably want to stay there.

Vorinus has locked down campus. It's possible to sneak in (and doesn't require admin approval); there are animated golems and Undine's ice elementals patrolling. House Vorinsky students and staff are also being drafted to assist. Classes continue for everyone except House Schellenberg students; they have all been rounded up and sent to the gymnasium. Vorinus isn't specifying if they're in any danger. Unruly Weatherfords will be sent there, too.

However, there is some resistance. Apollo isn't wild about Vorinus controlling the school; he's snuck some of those he controls out into the woods, and thus fire elementals are occasionally attacking the patrols on campus. Cleverly, Apollo has hidden this as a resistance against Vorinus's control; students and staff under his control are messing with Vorinus.

On Thursday night, there will be a smaller event with Ashtaroth and Vanya.

On Saturday, the Battle of the Tower begins. This event will have two areas. The first is for characters you don't want involved in Apollo's big push; this is a battle against the Vorinsky forces and Undine's ice elementals. During this, the imprisoned students can be freed. The mods won't be running this, and we'll leave it open to player participation.

The second is the battle outside of the Tower. This will involve Apollo and many of the students he controlled. It will likely be divided into stages, because that worked well for the last event.

Weather

There is a low level rain all week, until Saturday. Then, it's cloudy and ominous, with whipping winds.

So just to be sure- is this an "either/or" event concerning fighting Vorinskies/Undine's minions and fighting Apollo? In which case we need to decide who goes where so it isn't too lopsided one way or another.

For my part, Ezra will probably concern himself with student rescue. Ash I'll put in with the Apollo group.

We'd prefer either/or but we won't enforce it! Basically, we'd like to avoid LOADS OF PEOPLE at the main fight portion for Apollo and Friends.

A FEW QUESTIONS!

When can we assume that the safehouse characters have gotten news from the Houses/from their families? Will they be able to get all relevant school news easily as well? (I assume the internet might make this simpler, but I don't know if some information like Schellenberg-round-up might be more difficult to pry free.)

And social RP is being encouraged and recommended, but is this because we may not have the opportunity later, or because it will facilitate what happens better? If the latter, any details on the direction that might take might be helpful in determining what sort of threads to focus on before we're out of time!

They can get news from the school and their families! You can say it's as slow/fast as necessary for good drama and RP opportunities. :E

Social RP will definitely be possible later, HOWEVER it will be different. Next week, y'all will be relocated and there's a chance of some geographic dispersion that week; while that dispersion will be up to y'all, next week will be more "social RP with a theme."

It'll be more normal after that (or at least, back to SICU safehouse levels of normal; I don't think the game is ever going back to "every day school happiness" levels of normalness), but we wanted to give people a chance.

With regards to the students still back at school:

How many of the Castillo professors have remained? Tristan's been mostly dealing with Isabella: Is she still around?

Also, would any of what's going on back at the school be difficult to figure out, or can I assume Tristan can pick up on all of what's mentioned? (And is there anything else he could learn if he tries to?)

Most Castillo professors have remained, to protect their students! Isabella is at the forefront there. Tristan won't learn much more -- however, if you want to say he's seen Schellenbergs and Weatherfords being rounded up, feel free!

If he tries to overtly take action, he'll be apprehended; Vorinus has adults helping. However, he could help some escape towards Longpike if he's careful. He can also join in the event! As, uh. It'll be very obvious.

Also! In light of the answer to Myf's question about the split:

Victor will absolutely want to go help his Schellenberg scions/bros. Missie might be there as well, stabbing elements for fun and profit nah just for fun.

Rhys will probably face Apollo's push.

Providing Nayan's trusted enough to help, he's going to want to try to help free the rest of his House. If he's not, he'll likely be chilling at the base with Ana.

Reina will likely go wherever she's needed to be (but if Nayan is allowed to participate, Reina will be with the Apollofite for my own sanity).

Victor himself won't try to stop Nayan! He knows he can't run off and make sure Nayan stays put, so if Nayan wants to come, better it be where Victor can see him is his logic. But he won't make Nayan come either, if you'd rather have him with Ana.
